Eco friendly and ethically made plant based art scarves with original illustrations inspired by endangered animals

- All gone!
Hi, I’m Michelle, the designer behind Misheo, featuring hand illustrated luxurious scarves that celebrate biodiversity. I’d like to make a new collection of plant based, vegan friendly scarves inspired by endangered animals. I have always been fascinated by different flora and fauna, and have five years of experience designing scarves with these themes. This year, I decided that I wanted to take things a step further, and create a collection of scarves that are even more eco friendly and ethically made than what I have in my existing collections. It is a concern for me that wildlife is disappearing from our planet at such an alarming rate, and I hope that these scarves can help raise awareness for them.
Three reasons why you’ll love a scarf from this collection:
1. You can own a timeless piece of wearable art that will add a colorful accent to your wardrobe.
2. The luxurious scarves are completely plant based, uses eco friendly and sustainable production methods, are easy to care for, breathable, and completely biodegradable.
3. You can support endangered animals while leaving a light footprint on the planet.
Why Tencel?
Why digital print?
The benefits of digital printing include superior quality and superb preservation of detail for the artwork. It involves low power and water consumption, uses significantly less ink and minimizes waste, especially when compared to traditional screen printing. Our scarves are digitally printed using Oeko-tex certified inks, which means they are free from harmful chemicals and is safe for daily use.

Giving Back
We will plant one tree for every scarf sold in this campaign. Additionally, a portion of the profits will go to helping wildlife in need.
Packaging
As we would like to reduce the amount of plastic used in our packaging, scarves will be stored in a paper based gift box and packaged in a compostable mailer for mailing.
Design Process
Each piece stems from an original work of art and is characterized by elegant arrangements of natural motifs. Drawings are made from scratch using traditional media such as pencil and ink. A drawing is considered completed after the designer is satisfied with every detail, but the process is not finished. We then move on to the coloring phase, converting the art to digital, and experimenting with different colors until a harmonious combination is created. The whole process can take up to a month for each design.
Timeline
We are aiming for to have all the rewards delivered by mid August. Below is our schedule.
Our Goal
Our funding goal for this campaign is $2200. This includes the amount needed to make the scarves at a reasonable price. The money raised will be used to produce, promote and deliver this new collection.

Project budget
Risks and challenges
We have been making scarves for about five years, and have overcome many early challenges. Rest assured, we have done everything we can to lower the risks for this project. We have created the samples, done our research, and secured the production. We have also allowed extra time on our timeline in case of any unexpected issues such as production or shipping delays. We are confident any issues that come up would be easily resolved, and will keep our backers updated in case of any changes.
Environmental commitments
Visit our Environmental Resources Center to learn how Kickstarter encourages sustainable practices.
Long-lasting design
The designs are each a work of art and we hope that they can be passed down from generation to generation. Our scarves will be made from plant based Tencel, which is a durable material that looks beautiful when printed on.
Reusability and recyclability
We will package all rewards without plastic if possible. The scarves will be mailed in a paper based gift box and a compostable mailer. In case the scarves reach the end of their cycle, rest assured that they are completely biodegradable.
Sustainable materials
Our scarves will be made with Tencel, an environmentally friendly fabric made from renewable wood sources. The art prints are made using FSC certified paper from responsibly managed forestgs.
Environmentally friendly factories
We have selected factories that care about the environment as much as we do. The eco friendly tencel fiber is made with a closed loop process in a factory that runs on renewable energy, and the digital printing will be done in a factory that uses natural fabrics only, in order to try to eliminate waste from fabrics that contain plastic or polyester.
