It’s designed to work independently, requiring minimum intervention in the growing process.

This makes it an excellent product for people who want their own garden of fresh greens, but are either too busy to grow themselves, either lack the experience of growing these types of crops.

Meezbo doesn’t come alone. With every single product, you will receive a full growing kit containing growing mats and seeds to last you for a growing cycle.

As soon as you run out, you can reorder individual mats or seeds at any time.

Prior to creating Meezbo, we have spent a great amount of time analysing the existent plant/ microgreens growers available on the market and carefully reading the user reviews. We just didn’t want to create another grower.

Instead, we’ve combined our passions for design and ecology with our knowledge and experience in engineering to create a product that has its own life and can provide the optimal solution for microgreens to thrive indoors. This is how Meezbo came to life.

 Wi-Fi Connectivity

The wi-fi connectivity allows the product to keep you updated with regards to the growing process.

In the background, it is also backing-up growing cycles information, so that in case of any power outage, it can return to the growing stage it left off.

When we started designing Meezbo, this is the experience we always kept in mind: providing our users with an elegant piece of furniture that they’ll be proud to install in their homes and that will provide them with effortless fresh nutritious microgreens for their favourite recipes.

SO WHAT EXACTLY ARE MICROGREENS?

Microgreens are vegetable greens harvested just after the cotyledon leaves have developed. They are used as a nutrition supplement, a visual enhancement, and a flavour and texture enhancement.

Microgreens can add sweetness and spiciness to foods and are now considered a specialty genre of greens, good for garnishing salads, soups, sandwiches, and plates.

Edible young greens are produced from various kinds of vegetables, herbs, or other plants.

They range in size from 1 to 3 inches (2.5 to 7.6 cm), including the stem and leaves.

Independent full spectrum LED lights

The full spectrum LED provides the optimal light for plants to grow.

Without getting enough light, microgreens are going to look pale and weak.

Our LED solution produces a balance of cool and warm light that replicates the natural solar spectrum.

In comparison to fluorescent light, LED light is a newer technology with better intensity, low-watt higher efficiency, lower cost, very little heat, longer lifespan, and mercury-free.

When the natural light is insufficient, the software activates the LED light.

 Automated watering

There is no need for you to intervene in the growing process. Meezbo will provide water automatically in software controlled cycles adapted to each type of plant.

We have reduced the risk of flooding by using a water level sensor just in case the water hasn’t been absorbed properly.

 Growing mats vs Soil

Meezbo uses 100% natural hemp mats as a growing medium, which are biodegradable and can be composted after use. They provide high water retention and eliminate the mess associated with growing in soil.

The hemp mats are made of woven hemp fibre. They’re designed to transport water evenly around the microgreens and keep the correct ratio of water and air for their roots.

HOW TO GROW

• Step 1: Open the app, choose the seeds you want to grow

• Step 2: Lay the growing mat and spread the seeds 

*We will be also providing a cover for the germination period which will need to cover the seeds until they sprout. 

• Step 3: Hit “Start Grow” within the app, sit back and watch your plants grow

As we promised, this is as much as you need to do in the growing process.

Meezbo takes care of everything for you in the 7-14 days it takes microgreens to grow.

 THE NEXT STEPS

The funds raised in this campaign will be used to:

•  Research&Development: 

The only part of our research&development which is not fully completed is the APP development. We need your help to develop some of its critical functions and to enhance the user experience on some of its features. Out of our initial goal, the funding of this activity will require 30%.

•   Sourcing parts/ materials & manufacturing:

Largest part (40-50%) of our earnings in this campaign will be spent on sourcing the parts and paying for manufacturing costs. These include renting a small manufacturing facility and creating an assembly line that will guarantee the finished products meet a high standard of quality. Costs include paying our suppliers for the product’s components, but also for hemp mats and seeds which will get delivered with every single Meezbo.

•  Packaging &Shipping: 

Packaging and shipping costs will also need to be covered as we plan to deliver to most US and European locations. We are envisaging intercontinental shipping to involve high resources due to the product’s dimensions, as it comes fully assembled.
